Blanket Fund Contributions

In addition to bedding, blankets can be used as makeshift tents, hammocks to cradle a baby, or bags to carry salvaged possessions. Through its Blankets Program, Church World Services has provided comfort and assistance with blanket, bedding, and related shelter supplies for more than 40 years. $5 purchases one blanket. Send checks for $5 or more designated blankets to Church World Service, P.O. Box 968, Elkhart, IN 46515.

  Gifts of the Heart Kits

Relief and self-help kits assembled and donated by church and community groups represent an important part of the Church World Service material resources program. Please pack kits in a sturdy box clearly labeled with regard to contents and send them prepaid to Brethren Service Center, 500 Main Street, New Windsor, MD 21776-0188, with a check to defer costs of shipping handling (25 cents per pound for processing and 20 cents per kits for freight). They include Clean-up Kits, Health Kits, Layettes, School Kits, Sewing Kits, and food staples kits which CWS may solicit in special appeals to meet emergency needs in famines or following disasters. You can also designate money for preparing kits:

-- $20 for a clean-up kit

-- $12 for a health kit

-- $30 for a layette

-- $11 for a school kits

-- $13 for a sewing kit
