Response In the U.S., Church World Service works with and through faith-based state and community organizations that engage in disaster preparedness, mitigation, and response activities. Trained volunteer CWS Disaster Consultants organized along the lines of the 10 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Regions facilitate the work of CWS's state and community partners as organizers-enablers, technical advisors, and links to outside resources.
